Theme "Building Bridges: Science Culture for a Sustainable Future"

World Green Science Day (WGSD) is an annual global observance held every December 9th to honor the transformative power of science and education in forging a sustainable and equitable world. Now in its fourth edition, World Green Science Day has evolved into a movement that unites scientists, educators, policymakers, youth, and institutions worldwide.

From Inception to Impact: The WGSD Journey
Since its establishment in 2022, World Green Science Day has grown from a foundational initiative into a robust global platform for dialogue and action. The 2025 edition marks the fourth anniversary of this crucial observance, building upon three successful years of advancing green science principles and fostering international collaboration.

In 2025, as we face escalating climate challenges and growing societal disparities, the need for a unified, culturally-embedded scientific approach has never been greater. The World Green Science Day 2025, under the theme "Building Bridges: Science Culture for a Sustainable Future," calls for a paradigm shift from isolated scientific endeavors to a collaborative, inclusive, and accessible science culture that drives tangible action.

This fourth edition represents a significant milestone in our collective journey toward a more sustainable future, where scientific knowledge bridges cultural divides and transforms into actionable solutions for communities worldwide.

Following an incredible global response and a period of public voting (https://journalasc.org/2025/10/25/songfornature/), we are thrilled to announce that "One Planet, One Song" has been selected as the official Hymn for Nature 2025! This beautiful composition from Latin America resonated deeply with voters worldwide, perfectly capturing the competition’s spirit and the theme of this year’s World Green Science Day. A heartfelt congratulations to the winning composer, Mateo Silva, and his entire team! We have already contacted Mateo, who shared his inspiration behind the winning piece. (The winning composition, “One Planet, One Song,” is now available for public listening at the link below)
